Description
As part of the revitalisation of the area of the centre of Lódz project, Veolia develops power supply concepts for individual revitalized areas, designs and builds district heating networks, enabling the supply of system heat to modernised tenement houses, but also conducts informational and educational activities to reduce the dangerous phenomenon of the so-called low-stack emission in the city. Low-stack emission, one of the causes of smog formation in Polish cities, is the result of using local, individual and inefficient solid fuel furnaces. Connecting the city centre to the system heat helps to improve the quality of life of Lódz’s inhabitants by reducing emissions harmful to the environment, but also improves safety in households (fire safety). Furthermore, it guarantees security of system heat supply from the network and the comfort of its effective use. Ultimately, the entire city centre zone should be connected to the district heating network.
